The Pro 300 has been discontinued and replaced in Profitec's range by the MOVE, which trades the older machine's design for a fast-heating ring brew group and a modern programmable interface. That makes the Pro 300 a used-market proposition now, and a sound one — it is a compact dual boiler with Profitec's build quality, and the core reason to want it has not changed. Against the single-boiler Profitec GO, which sits below it, the difference is simple and decisive: the GO makes you brew and then steam sequentially, while the Pro 300 does both at once. If you make the occasional milk drink, that sequential workflow may not bother you and the GO is smaller with less to go wrong. If you make milk drinks daily, the dual boiler is the whole point.

The most useful piece of owner knowledge about this machine is a small adjustment that transforms it. The steam pressurestat can be adjusted with a small screwdriver, and increasing the pressure a little is safe and dramatically speeds up steaming — owners describe the difference as substantial rather than marginal. If your Pro 300 feels slow to texture milk, that is the first thing to try before concluding the machine is underpowered. The other feature worth knowing about is the hot water dispense, which the GO lacks. How much that matters depends entirely on where you live: it is a genuinely popular feature in the United States, where electric kettles are less common in kitchens, while European owners generally point out that they already own a kettle and have never needed the machine to supply boiling water. It is a good example of a specification that looks identical on paper and means completely different things in different households.

At its original $1,799, and considerably less used, the Pro 300 competed in a crowded bracket. Against the Lelit Elizabeth, which offers a dual boiler at a similar price, you are trading Lelit's more mixed build reports for Profitec's reputation for durability. Against the MOVE that replaced it, you give up fast heat-up, programmable pre-infusion, per-button shot profiles and daily scheduling — which are substantial gains, and the reason the newer machine reviews so well. Against an ECM, owners note that machine offers discrete control of both boilers along with flow control and programmable pre-infusion. Where the Pro 300 still makes sense is as a well-built compact dual boiler bought secondhand at a price the newer machines cannot match, from an owner who looked after it. As with every Profitec, the same warning applies as to the rest of the range: do not descale it casually, treat your water properly instead, and have it professionally serviced if it genuinely needs internal attention.
